Speaking of hurricanes, the Charleston Arts Festival is back this year — last fall’s Hurricane Matthew caused several of the fest’s events to be cancelled or postponed. This year, the fest faces hurricane season head on once more as it runs Fri. Sept. 22 through Sat. Oct. 28. The festival features multiple events again, like Pecha Kucha, as well as the JAIL BREAK finale — this time at the Royal American. Oh, and it’s Halloween-themed.
Brave Baby will headline the Sat. Oct. 28 finale, while the the multi-genre lineup features hip-hop artist Benny Starr, DJ Sista Misses, rockers Matadero, and indie-popsters Beach Tiger. The finale also includes live dance, comedy, and a costume contest.

Here’s hoping nothing, neither Irma nor Jose, stands between us and a good time at the Charleston Arts Festival.
