It’s been a hot minute since Brave Baby played together, and the Extra Chill New Year’s Eve at LO-Fi Brewing will be the band’s first headlining show in about four years with all the usual suspects, frontman Keon Masters, drummer Wolfgang Zimmerman, bassist Jordan Hicks, guitarist Christian Chidester and keyboardist Steven Walker.

“I think a lot of us have missed playing together,” Masters told City Paper

Be on the lookout for the band’s newest release, “Blue Year,” ahead of the show. “It got lost in the whole hustle of life,” Masters said of the song that was first recorded in 2016 — and it’s actually about new year’s, so it’s quite fitting.

“Releasing the song and playing a show for our crowd at one of our favorite spots is going to be really fun and beneficial to all of us,” Masters said. “It could maybe nudge the sleeping giant a little more to where it could wake up and get after it again. Any excuse to get together and make art with your friends is dope in my opinion.”

The Extra Chill NYE party will also feature local acts Human Resources, S.L.I.M. & The Psycodelics, Tennis Courts and Aggie Flores. The NYE excursion includes a night market curated by The Almighty Apparel and visual installations by New Paradigm Productions. $35 advance tickets are available online and are $45 at the door for the 7 p.m. event.
