Brett McKee, owner/chef of Oak Steakhouse and 17 North, will be hosting another sold-out dinner at the James Beard House in New York City this Sat. Jan. 16 — despite his very recent back surgery.
McKee will be joining forces with Chef Peter Vauthy of Miami’s Red the Steakhouse to host the “Big Steaks, Big Reds” dinner. This is McKee’s fifth invitation to cook at the prestigious Beard House.
The five-course dinner features Certified Angus Beef quality products and will highlight favorite dishes from both steakhouses. McKee will prepare beef carpaccio and Barolo-braised beef short ribs, which you can enjoy at Oak tonight as part of the steakhouse’s Restaurant Week three-courses-for-$30 special. In other news, McKee and his chefs — Joseph Jacobson from Oak Steakhouse and Todd Hubbard from 17 North — will be cooking at the next Guerrilla Cuisine dinner on Sun. Jan. 24.
