Local promotion company Brightsound Entertainment (the folks who delivered Steel Pulse and Big Boi) recently announced a couple of shows.

Hip-hop artist and Washington, D.C. native Wale (born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, pictured) — the self-proclaimed “Ambassador of Rap for the Capital” — headlines a show at the Music Farm on Sat. Dec. 4. Wale (pronounced “wah-lay”) is on the road behind his latest album, Attention Deficit (Interscope/Allido). Advance tickets are on sale via Etix for $20 (plus fees). Pittsburgh electronic act Girl Talk — a.k.a. DJ and remixer Greg Gillis — is solid for a concert at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium on Sat. Jan. 22. Girl Talk specializes in mash-ups and digital sampling (from Black Sabbath to Peter Gabriel). He’s released five albums on the Illegal Art label.
