Through Nov. 1, emerging and established Southeastern artists can apply to participate in ArtFields 2021, an annual art competition and exhibition in Lake City, South Carolina. Interested applicants can apply online.

Founded  in 2013, ArtFields is a nine-day celebration featuring Southeastern artists; the festival showcases their work, bringing Lake City to life through art. Adult artists of all media, living within the South’s 12 participating states, are eligible to submit their work to be showcased in ArtField’s town-wide exhibition.

All art is in the running for one of four cash prizes ranging from $12,500 – $50,000. More than $800,000 in cash prizes have been awarded since the event was first started and ArtFields has helped launch the careers of countless, Southeastern artists.

Past ArtFields winners include a number of Charleston artists like Robert Maniscalco, Kristi Ryba and Colin Quashie.

In a recent letter, director of the ArtFields Collective, Jamison Kerr wrote: “This past year has affected all of us more than we could have ever imagined. We were devastated to not able to gather last Spring as we’d hoped. There’s so much uncertainty out there, but what is certain is that there will always be a place for art in Lake City. We do things differently in Lake City — in many ways, that’s prepared us to adapt to the new challenges faced by art institutions. So, while we cannot predict what the next week, month or even year may look like, we can promise our dedication and commitment to bring art — your art — to life in Lake City.”

Interested artists can submit their work online now.

Accepted artists will be notified on Dec. 2.
