Local electro punk outfit Olive Dares the Darkness caught up with City Paper after band practice last week ahead of the group’s Feb. 12 show at Tin Roof in West Ashley.
“We’ve been working on a new setlist. We have our first album out, but we are in the process of putting out our second album,” said keyboardist/vocalist Becca Darling. “We carved out newer songs and rehashed some older ones. We always like to bring our rowdy set to the Tin Roof, so it’s gonna be good old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll with some good vocals on top.”
Along with Darling, Olive Dares the Darkness consists of guitarist Mike Baum, drummer Danielle Carlson and bassist Mr. Minister to bring their take on synth-soaked industrial rock.
The Feb. 12 Tin Roof show features indie grunge band Cheating Alethia from Southeast Georgia and rock band Sleep Signal from Nashville, Tennessee. Doors for the all-ages show are 8 p.m., $10 over-21 and $12 under-21.
