The Latin American Festival (formerly Festival Hispano) enters its 19th anniversary this year. Head to Wannamaker County Park and celebrate all things Latino, with an emphasis on food, music, and culture.
Live music will be supplied all day on the festival’s main stage. Opener DJ Luigi will be spinning sets of Hispanic pop songs, while Bio Ritmo, a nationally and internationally acclaimed, authentic 10-piece salsa band, will get attendees’ feet moving.
As far as sustenance goes, vendors will be serving authentic Latino food from several regions. Dishes include chorizo, tamales, empanadas, plus a variety of others foods and beverages.
A craft market and global education area will be available for those seeking cultural clarity, plus rides and crafts to entertain the kids. Locally-centered Brazilian martial-arts/dance fusion Capoeira Charleston will also provide performances and demonstrations.
If you’re a Wannamaker Park frequenter, bring your Annual Gold Pass with you, as those will be accepted.
