Local musician Charles Cook has recently finished recording a 10-song LOP, Fruits of the Laurel, an album he’s spent the past two years completing.
An eclectic collection of songs that tell a story, the record was put together with the help of several Charleston heavyweights, including guitarist Paul Quatlebaum and bassist John F. Kennedy. In addition, Cook’s Italian friend Nicola Genovese laid down all the keyboard tracks remotely from Florence. Genovese will also fly into town for the release party for Fruits of the Laurel.
You can catch Cook live on Tuesdays at Chico Feo on Folly Beach. To buy the album and stay updated on the launch party date and venue, go to charlescookmusic.com.
