This February, the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Department is holding its third Top Dog Mascot Contest to find the CCPR’s spokesdog for 2013. The contest is open to any dog who knows and loves Charleston County’s dog parks. The winning pup will be hold a one-year term of office, during which he or she will help promote park events and be present for photo opportunities.
Contestants must have up-to-date vaccinations, a sociable, patient, and friendly personality, and be well-behaved in public. Entries can be submitted Feb. 1-15 at www.ccprc.com/topdog, and voting lasts Feb. 16-27. Then mark your calendar for the Apr. 13 Pet Fest, which is when the Top Dog and Vice Top Dog will be announced.
In addition to the obvious power and prestige, the Top Dog will receive a mascot collar, leash, and t-shirt. The dog’s person wins a CCPRC Gold Pass, which means free admission for up to15 people at any of the Charleston County Parks for 2013.
