CFW Success Story Ajang Majok

Attention somewhat tall, attractive people who can walk in a straight line: Charleston Fashion Week is seeking models for the March 2012 event. Applications are now open for the casting calls, which will take place in Charleston, Charlotte, and Atlanta throughout the fall. A panel of judges will select the best models to be used in the model book, which designers and runway participants will use to select people to walk in their shows.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Women must be at least 5’7″, men at least 5’10”. And you must be willing to work your ass off for nothing more than a gift bag and exposure. Models aren’t paid for their time, and they’re responsible for their own food and travel costs, although out-of-town models will be provided lodging for the nights they’re working. The trade-off is that plenty of people will see you walk the runway, including industry experts, so if your goal is to be a professional model, this could be your in. Check out some of CFW’s success stories here.

Casting calls will take place in Charleston at the Harbor Resort and Marina on Sept. 24 and Oct. 22. Application deadlines to take part in those castings are Sept. 9 and Oct. 7, respectively. The Atlanta casting is Oct. 29 and the Charlotte casting is Nov. 12.
