Remember when we were all bemoaning the lack of good seafood restaurants in town? Then came 2013. The Ordinary splashed onto the scene at the beginning of the year, and several other seafood-centric restaurants have since opened their doors, including SALT at Station 22 on Sullivan’s Island, Coda del Pesce on Isle of Palms, and now Charleston Harbor Fish House in Mt. Pleasant. I don’t think we can complain any longer. Our restaurateurs have finally realized that a place surrounded by water teeming with fish should have plenty of places to enjoy said fish.
The Charleston Harbor Resort broke ground on the Fish House last fall and has constructed quite an impressive new restaurant in a marquee waterfront setting. Accessible by boat (and car), the Fish House has a rooftop bar, outdoor seating, and great views of the water.
They also have an accomplished chef in Charles Arena, formerly of the Boathouse at Breach Inlet. Arena has long been committed to sustainable seafood and was fisherman Mark Marhefka’s first chef client.
