Nearly nine months ago, Sarah Jones lost her life when a train hit her on the set of Midnight Rider. Since then, charges have been pressed against the director, producers, and first assistant director of the Gregg Allman-biopic, and a trial has been set for March 9, 2015 in Wayne County, Ga. But Charleston wants to do more to honor Jones’ life, and on Sat. Nov. 8, Charleston International Film Festival and S.C. Film Council will host Celebrating Sarah at Prohibition (547 King St.).
The event kicks off at 3 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m., with tickets costing $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The cost of admission grants you two drink tickets and heavy appetizers. Proceeds will benefit the film department at Trident Technical College in honor of the former College of Charleston student.
