[image-1]The former home of the Charleston Rainbows — The Citadel’s College Park Field — will get a different kind of game on Sept. 15., one that involves competitive canapé-eating and schmoozing. Charleston Wine + Food festival will host its 12th ticket launch party, Grand Slam Jam, beginning at 6 p.m. that night.
“We are excited to kick off the 12th year of Charleston Wine + Food with such a unique experience. I can’t imagine a better way to showcase all that’s in store for the 2017 season,” says festival executive director Gillian Zettler in a press release.
The Grand Slam Jam, which starts the fest’s 2017 ticket sales, is a is all a throwback nod to the team who played at the stadium from 1985 to 1993, and will have music by ’80s and ’90s cover band The Spazmatics as well as food from 15 local chefs. That includes people Indaco’s Kevin Getzewich and Warehouse and Parlor Deluxe’s Emily Hahn, so we expect haute dogs will be part of W+F’s promised “vintage baseball vibes and elevated ballpark food and drinks.”
Tickets to attend the launch party are $65 per person and may be purchased here.
