Golf tournament and silent auction benefit WSF’s surf therapy program for veterans and their families

Folly Beach’s Warrior Surf Foundation (WSF) has pulled together a huge collection of cool swag and services as part of its 6th Annual Golf Tournament and Cocktail Dinner. While tonight’s Wild Dunes Cocktail Dinner and Saturday’s Kiawah Island Ocean Course golf tournament are both sold out, the auction items are not. Bidding ends tonight (Friday) though!

Among the items up for auction are a two night stay at The Sanctuary on Kiawah, a Yeti Camino Carryall, a Solo smokeless stove, a hand curated wine basket by the Wine Shop of Charleston, a pair of passes to the Bull Island Ferry along with a Budwieser Paddleboard and the opportunity to sponsor a veteran through WSF’s 12-week program. You can even buy a tank of gas for the foundation’s surf van.

All proceeds from WSF’s Charity Golf Classic and silent auction go towards providing a free 12 week program to veterans and their families which consists of surf instruction, one-on-one wellness coaching and yoga that teaches Veterans resiliency, positive psychology and goal setting.

Additionally, 46 community surf sessions are offered throughout the year that provide veterans with a sense of community and the opportunity to come together throughout the year.

Veterans who attend the program see benefits such as enhanced physical and mental wellbeing, better communication skills and an increased drive to live life to its fullest.
