[image-2]Brunch fatigue is real, y’all, and the Cocktail Bandits and BJ Dennis have the cure for your end-of-summer blues. It’s to be a brunch like no other; the menu teases coconut dipped French toast served with salted caramel rum sauce, drunken berries, whipped cream, and fresh mint; a Holy City Hogs pork shoulder braised with orange and coconut milk; and local shrimp and grits served with a crispy grit cake and garlicky creole sauce. It will all be going down at Cane’s Rhum Bar, a brick-and-mortar slice of the Caribbean on East Bay Street.
The Cocktail Bandits, made up of dynamic duo Johnny Caldwell and Taneka Reaves, are probably better versed in all things cocktail than anyone else in the Holy City. BJ Dennis’s Gullah-Geechee inspired cuisine has garnered praise from locals and reviewers alike.
Summer is almost over, and you might as well end it sipping craft cocktails and eating drunken berries.
Brunch is Sun. Aug. 13 from 2-6 p.m. There’s no reservations and no cover charge.
