In preparation for its fourth season, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Spiritual Ensemble is seeking volunteer members. The 35-member vocal group, which specializes in African-American spirituals, needs singers who can vocalize individually and in a choral setting. They’ll host voice assessments at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Hwy., on Aug. 1 and 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The upcoming season will include a holiday concert, a Martin Luther King, Jr. tribute, Piccolo Spoleto performances, and other local events.
