Smarel “Nicole” Brown, daughter of Dell Grayson (owner of Dell’z Deli), was given a project by her mother to open up a smoothie and juice bar on King Street. Her concoctions are made with all-natural ingredients, showing customers how easy and beneficial it is to be healthy.
“I want people to know there can be a bar on King Street without alcohol where you can leave with a natural high,” says Smarel.
Smarel’s signature smoothie is the “Halla Berry” made with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, bananas, Greek yogurt, lime, spinach, and coconut water. As a vegetarian, this is good way for her to get a serving of spinach masked by delicious fruits. Dell’s contribution to the menu is the “Spicy CoCo Boy” with spinach, banana, organic cocoa nibs, honey, almond milk, cayenne, and cinnamon. It’s sweet with a good cayenne kick at the end.
Dellz Vibez also sells natural remedies such as goji berries and coconut oil to promote natural healing. Smarel plans to start a weekly newsletter once things get rolling. They plan to have an official opening later in the summer.
For now, the goal is to promote health and wellness, and spread the Dellz vibes. Customers are welcome to pick up food from the restaurant around the corner and eat at the King Street location to enjoy a smoothie with their meal. “This is where strangers become friends,” says Smarel, “sharing conversation through healthy lifestyle.”
