When I was first asked “what’s my beef?” I immediately thought, “Yes! I can kibitz about things that make me boil to an audience larger than just my boo!” Consequently, there was an article written a few weeks back in the City Paper that referenced the City Gallery at Waterfront Park, where I coordinate art exhibitions, as a hidden hot spot for using the loo.

Here’s my beef: While the City Gallery restrooms are a thing of beauty (I know this because I stock it myself with green tea liquid hand soap and quilted soft TP, and it’s always white-glove clean), I wish this article had referenced the gallery as a hidden spot to go see the city’s best art, which I believe it is because we “stock” it with talented artists. All things considered, this really does not make me boil, and after further thought my beef made me laugh.

I now invite you all to use our loo. Our gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 12-5 p.m. However, I hope that after using the restrooms you will come inside the gallery and peruse the exhibition on view before you’re on your way.

I’ll see you there … in the gallery, not the stalls.
