Stoners rejoice: Doug Benson will be doing a show at the Charleston Comedy Festival on Jan. 16 at the Sottile Theatre.
Benson is the guy behind Super High Me, a documentary in which he abstains from marijuana smoking for 30 days, then smokes or consumes it for 30 days straight, charting the effects on his health. (It’s like a much more self-indulgent Super Size Me, which is what inspired Super High Me.) He’s also the creator and performer of the show The Marijuana-Logues, has a new Netflix comedy special out called The Doug Dynasty, and is the creator of The Benson Interruption, a TV show and podcast in which he interrupts other comedians while they tell their jokes.
