Charleston is getting its own branch of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, an alt-drawing movement started by an art school drop-out in a Brooklyn dive bar in 2005. According to the official website (drsketchy.com), the event lets amateur and professional artists draw underground performers in a non-traditional atmosphere.

Olivia Pool, publisher of Art Mag, is the director of the local branch, and she’s seeking interesting performers — like dancers, jugglers, or actors — to pose for artists. “This is, first and foremost, a figure drawing class where the model happens to also show off their performing arts skills,” Pool says. “This will be different from a normal figure drawing class in that these models will not be nude. They will be scantily clad but not nude.”
