Garage-punk fuzzsters Dumb Doctors don’t fuck around when it comes to rock ‘n’ roll. The Charleston band recently began recording tracks at producer Wolfgang Ryan Zimmerman’s Line Street studio in hopes of wrapping up an album in time for a mid-June tour, and one session involved rockin’ out in their drawers to get it done. Scott Dence and Dumb Doctors were one in the same until he formed the full band last year with Mackie Boles, Antoine Dukes, and Jim Faust. The foursome teamed up with local tape label Academia Records, who will release the new stuff as soon as it’s ready to roll. “The album is pretty loose right now. We’re basically jammin’ in Ryan’s studio like we do at our practice space. It feels really natural so far.” Au naturel, indeed.
