Wednesday is Earth Day, and local artists are getting in on celebrating our dear planet. Both Charleston Young Professionals and Mellow Mushroom/Lowcountry Earth Force are hosting art shows featuring art inspired by the earth.

As part of the Charleston Young Professionals‘ Get on the Bus Tour and Green Expo at Noisette, the organization hosts a show featuring eco-friendly and affordable art for display and purchase. The 20-plus participating artists include Nathan Durfee, Mary Edna Fraser, Susan Gregory, Lisa Shimko, Alex Radin, and more. We’re especially looking forward to checking out Christopher Murphy’s 3-D abstract portraits (pictured).

Mellow Mushroom is partnering up with Lowcountry Earth Force for their show, which will look at local artists’ interpretation of the beauty and damage done to the earth. Participating artists include Alexis Candela, Rachel Gillon, Priscilla Thomas, Wolfkid, Kate Barratini, Elizabeth Gouldon, Jordy Martin, and more. Enjoy live jazz and drink specials, plus a silent auction that will benefit Lowcountry Earth Force. The show starts at 7 p.m.
