Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will be making a stop at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Sat. Sept. 29 with support from opener Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Lead singer Alex Ebert and company recently released a new album titled Here, which debuted at No. 1 on the Independent Music Chart and at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

Entertainment Weekly praised the album and its “lovely troubadour melodies,” while Relix hailed it as “an album full of undeniable folk-rock hooks, gospel overtones, infectious lyrics, orchestral swells and a whole lot of love.”

The band plans on releasing a follow up to Here later this year. Sharpe and the band will also be releasing a film directed by Emmett Malloy, highlighting the group’s 2011 Railroad Revival Tour with Mumford and Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show. The film, titled Big Easy Express, premiered at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival and took home the Headliner Audience Award. It will be available June 26 on iTunes.

Tickets for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros go on sale Fri. June 22 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at the Coliseum Advance Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets (including select Publix grocery stores), or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
