Yet another reason to bury your face in your iPhone. On Nov. 5, Piggly Wiggly launched PigQuest 2010, an interactive scavenger hunt based in Charleston. The store is offering a year’s worth of free groceries to whomever can decode a hidden message spread across the city.
The contest is the first of its kind in Charleston to encrypt clues via CR Codes, scannable barcodes leading to the next clue. By downloading an application, these codes can be scanned by most smartphones and camera phones.
The first person to decipher the message and post it to the Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. Facebook page brings home the bacon.
Latecomers fear not: you can catch up on previous clues via the Pig’s Twitter (http://twitter.com/thepigglywiggly). For more info, visit pigquest2010.com.
