Charlestonian Eric Liebetrau was recently appointed to the National Book Critics Circle Board of Directors, the professional association of literary critics and editors best known for its National Book Critics Circle Awards.

Liebetrau is known in literary circles for his work with Kirkus, where he’s a managing editor, as well as his freelance work — you might remember his list of the top 20 books for the summer in our 2012 Summer Book Issue.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to serve on the board of such a prestigious organization,” Liebetrau says. “During my term, I hope to further the cause of NBCC and make sure that we, as a board, make the best decisions possible regarding the awards.” We have full confidence you will, Eric.
