Local vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jenna Ave-Lallemant is set to drop an 11-song record this month under the moniker FALINE, her middle name given to her by her older brother. The self-titled LP was recorded and mixed with guitarist and producer Andy Dixon at his Ramshackle Studios in West Ashley. Also featured on the disc is Punks&Snakes’ Jack Burg on percussion, plus backup vocals from Lily Slay (Royal Tinfoil), Hunter Park (She Returns From War), Conor Donohue, and Dixon. Ave-Lallemant says the record is a combo of rock, dark folk, and “smudginess.” “I feel like the album has a fairly large range of sound, some songs being extremely simple and intimate, while others are fully developed rock songs with loud drums and heavy bass and guitars out the wazoo,” she says. The songs were mastered locally by Truphonic Studios’ Vlado Meller, and a full-band FALINE CD-release show is in the works for late February.
