[image-1]Fam’s Brewing Co. on James Island hosts an oyster roast and beer release party (with a philanthropic bent) on Veterans Day Sun. Nov. 11. The party runs from 1 to 5 p.m. with a raffle, plus pop-up vendors Shred Season Surfboards and Apis Mercantile CBD Honey. Guests can sip on the Brewing Co.’s newest release, a rich yet light and easy drinking stout, the Sea Pearl Oyster, and feast on AYCE hot and salty bivalves.
The event raises money for local veteran nonprofit Warrior Surf Foundation. The foundation, founded in 2015 on Folly by American combat veterans and surfers, works to assist with post-service transition, helping vets deal with challenges like PTSD, moral injury, and survivor’s guilt. Warrior Surf hosts six-week surf camps that allow vets to overcome anxiety with social situations, crowds, and allows them to forge non-battlefield bonds.
Entrance to the roast and release is free, but for just $25 attendees get AYCE oysters plus one pint of the stout.
