Who: Angela May, anchorwoman for “Good Morning Charleston” on ABC News4, reporter for “Lowcountry Live,” reporter and writer for ABC/CNN radio news

Favorite Lunch Spot: Boulevard Diner, 409 W. Coleman Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant

Why: Initially lured inside by the enormous hamburger towering over the entrance to the parking lot, she figured this place had character. Has always loved the comfortable, unpretentious setting, especially now that new, easier-on-the-backside booths have been installed. In addition, the prices are very reasonable, considering how tasty and plentiful the servings are. Only a handful of the Diner’s hearty lunch offerings cost more than $7, and several cost less.

Angela’s Preferred Lunch Dish: A born and bred lady of the South, Angela is helplessly hooked on their country fried steak smothered in onion gravy, with smashed potatoes and a side (today it’s pellets of fried okra) for only $7. Of course, it all must be washed down with sweet tea. — Roy Freedman
