Fall has officially arrived, and even though it’s still 80 degrees, now you don’t have to feel so guilty shopping for boots, blazers, and other cozy goodness. Lucky for you, local businesses are also getting in on the seasonal excitement. Here’s a line-up of some events — most of them free — coming up over the next few days.
Wednesday, head to Belk in the Mt. Pleasant Towne Center for a Girl’s Night Out. Preview the latest fall trends at a fashion show, learn new makeup techniques, and enjoy chocolate refreshments, music, discounts and more. (5-8:30 p.m.)
Thursday, Pearl hosts their Opening Soiree, with music from Quentin Baxter and Gradual Lean, food from Langdon’s, and drinks from Muse. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Pet Helpers. (7 p.m.) Thursday night is also Lula Kate’s Soiree hosted by Southern Protocol. All merchandise will be 10 percent off, and cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. (6-8 p.m.)
On Saturday morning, head to the parking lot by the Hampton Park Dog Park to bargain hunt at the Wagener Terrace Yard Sale. (8 a.m.-12 p.m.) Stop by Mac & Murphy in the afternoon for the Candy Shop Vintage Trunk Show. (pictured, 1-5 p.m.) Jasmine Porch at the Sanctuary hosts the Fall Fashion with Flair Luncheon from 12-2 p.m. Local stores like Eden Boheme, Cose Belle, Felice Designs, and more will have their fall wares on view, and you’ll enjoy a three-course menu with champagne ($45). Later that night, Article 5 Salon and Boutique on King Street hosts their grand opening with food and drinks. (6-9 p.m.)
The fashion madness continues next week — Keep your eye out for the Fashion 4 Paws show on Shem Creek Oct. 1, the Dockside Fashion Show Oct. 3, the Whispers on Wentworth grand re-opening Oct. 9, and the Seeking Indigo Grand Opening Oct. 15. We’ll update you on these events closer to the date.
