So, you couldn’t get out to Taco Boy this week for their Lowcountry Food Bank hunger drive. You’re all the way in Mt. Pleasant. We understand. But you can still help the food bank. The BI-LO at Hwy. 17 North Bypass is throwing a “Fill the Truck” event this afternoon.

From 1-7 p.m., they’ll have a big truck from Lowcountry Food Bank parked outside ready to be filled with nonperishable food items that will help an estimated 154,000 families, children, and elderly throughout the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina.

Bring food from home or duck into the grocery store and grab one of the prepackaged $5 relief bags. It’s easy and it’s much-needed.

Or, if you can’t make it there, plan your own food drive. September is Hunger Action Month.
