Even though the ridiculous ambush of pollen has prevented us from fully enjoying spring just yet, Summerville is already taking in the season in full bloom with the 37th Annual Flowertown Festival this Friday through Sunday. The free event, held in Azalea Park and historic Main Street, features over 200 artisans from across the country showcasing arts and crafts for the masses. In addition to the arts and crafts booths throughout the festival area, “Taste of Summerville” begins an hour after each festival day to provide food for all visitors from local participating restaurants — Food tickets are only $1 a pop. Also, for those with kiddies in tow, no need to worry about your little ones running amuck and breaking valuable artwork; a Children’s Jubilee will be set up on South Main Street with rides, games, treats, and the like.
