To kick off their 91st season, The Footlight Players at the Queen Street Playhouse are presenting the musical The Full Monty.

Written by Terrance McNally and directed by new Artistic Director Kyle Barnette, The Full Monty follows the plot of the acclaimed cult British film. A group of misfit and unemployed NY steelworkers come up with a plan to make money and reclaim their dignity by baring all in a male strip troupe called Hot Metal.

And yes, it’s all going down and coming off at the Queen Street Playhouse starting on Friday, August 12, and running until Sunday, August 28.

The Full Monty kicks off a season at Queen Street that includes some impressive, powerful plays, including Katori Hall’s MLK drama The Mountaintop, Yezmina Reza’s power struggle God of Carnage, William Goldman’s theatrical adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery and the musical comedy Monty Python’s Spamalot.

Head to for information on all these shows, as well as to purchase tickets to The Full Monty. Be advised that The Full Monty features strong language and, of course, brief nudity.
