Don’t look for another restaurant to open where The Gentry and Sermet’s once stood. Mark Mark Regalbuto of Renew Urban Charleston says that the second and third floors of 276 King St. will become condos and the street level space will be retail.

The renovation, already well underway, comes about a month after The Gentry owner JD Madison vacated the property and 276 King St., LLC filed a suit against the Southern Charm cast member for $163,233 in unpaid rent.

“Gentry is all but a memory,” Regalbuto responded in an email to City Paper this morning.
