This week shoppers have their pick of events to get ready for fall. Choose your favorite, or attend them all.

Thurs. Oct. 22, Cavortress debuts with a vintage showcase at 179 Wentworth Street from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Designer Julie Wheat, known around town for her cute handbags, has curated a collection of vintage clothes and accessories from around the world for nearly 20 years. Expect prices to stay in the $10-$100 range for items like sequined tops, dresses, belts, and leather goods.

Avondale’s Pink Party is also Thursday night from 6-9 p.m. The boutiques and restaurants in the area will be offering drinks and hors d’oeuvres plus sales, with a large portion of the night’s profits going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

If you go to K. Morgan between Thursday and Saturday, you can draw a discount to receive 10-40 percent off your entire purchase. This excludes sale items.

Elysium hosts “Get Styled,” a hair, makeup, and wine party, Fri. Oct. 23 from 6-9 p.m. This free event features hair and makeup demo’s from Elysium’s stylists to teach you beautifying techniques. Gwynn’s is hosting a Wolford Trunk Show Oct. 23 and 24. Wolford is an Austrian company that specializes in hosiery and lingerie.

On Sat. Oct. 24, head to Berlin’s for Women to pick out a sari to wear to Pet Helpers’ Fur Ball, which has a Bollywood theme this year. Indian style guru Parveen Kandola will be in-house helping shoppers choose their saris.
