TUESDAY. Head out for some grub to downtown’s Charleston Grill where The Trumpet Trio will perform for free. Band members include the talents of Gerald Gregory on the piano, bassist Kevin Hamilton, and the respected jazz trumpeter Charlton Singleton.

WEDNESDAY. Now that hurricane season is upon us, it’s a good idea to be prepared for upcoming storms. Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island are hosting a Disaster Preparedness Expo where they will discuss how to make a disaster preparedness plan and kit. Food will be provided and they’ll also have games, entertainment, and a face painter for the kids.

THURSDAY. Summer can only mean one thing: sun, sun, and more sun. If you’re hanging out downtown, stop by Marion Square to pick up a free hat from the Hat Ladies and support sun protection for National Hat Day in the Sun. One hat per customer, and the Hat Ladies will be giving them out while supplies last.

FRIDAY. Get your yoga on with a free class from lululemon athletica. The store will shut down the King Street from Society to Wentworth Streets in order to celebrate its grand opening. All levels are welcome. Mats will be provided.

SATURDAY. CommUNITY Family Fun Day will be hosted by the Charleston Community Service Group and Project Unity at the Danny Jones Complex. Bring the kids for a day of food, jump castles, swimming, live music, and arts and crafts. Cast members of Army Wives and S.C. Stingrays players will be available for a meet-and-greet.

SUNDAY. Channel your inner quirk at the Lowcountry Big Lebowski Celebration to celebrate the Coen brother’s 1998 cult classic. After the movie screening, show off your Big Lebowski knowledge in a trivia competition. Admission is free for those who dress up as their favorite character from the film.
