Earth Day falls on Mon. April 22 this year — but we think you should probably celebrate our Mother every day. Without her we wouldn’t have nontoxic beauty products, craft beer, and renewable energy. Here’s the rundown on the good stuff kicking off tomorrow, Fri. April 19:
From Fri. April 19-Mon. April 22, head to Aillea, a cosmetic store on King Street, to swap out your toxic beauty products and save money on non-toxic Aillea brands.
On Sat. April 20, the Conservation Voters of South Carolina and Tradesman Brewing Co. host Drive Electric Earth Day from 12-4 p.m. You’ll hear from industry experts and ride in electric vehicles (while taking some breaks with brews, naturally).
On Fri. April 19 Itinerant Literate Books hosts Books & Brouhaha Earth Day Market from 5-9 p.m. Every attendee will receive a free pack of seeds.
On Mon. April 22 Basic Kitchen teams up with Red Clay Hot Sauce and honors Earth Day with an “all things verde” dinner in BK’s garden — a celebration of spring produce and sustainable practices. Tickets can be purchased online.
This Sat. April 20, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sweetgrass Garden on Johns Island holds its inaugural Earth Day festival featuring live music, yoga, a gospel singer, food from Amor Healing Kitchen, and beer from Low Tide Brewing.
Sat. April 20 falls on a big weekend — why not celebrate Easter along with 4/20 and Earth Day at Snafu Brewing Co. from 3-9 p.m. Oh Yah BBQ will be on deck (because that’s what Snafu’s smokin’ that day — meat!) and there will be a new small batch of beer available too.
On Sun. April 21 get outside and be one with nature at a Yoga + Mindful Cocktails event, held at Workshop at 10 a.m. Get your yoga on with local teacher Christine Lentz and then enjoy some Kombucha cocktails and mocktails from Merrow’s Garden bar.
