House members are refusing to discuss the state budget until there is some decision on Department of Transportation reforms. The line in the sand worked last year to get property tax relief through, but the strong-arm tactics aren’t going so well this time.

Senate staffers blew up head shots of state Reps. Dan Cooper, R-Anderson; Tracy Edge, R-Horry; and Denny Neilson, D-Darlington, put them on sticks and placed them in their chairs. The senators then “discussed” the proposed state budget with the representatives.
