[image-1]School is almost back in session, and that means it’s time to get your hands on some public education performances for the kids in your life. Luckily for you, the Gaillard Center has some excellent offerings for the upcoming season as a part of their education initiative.

The first performance in the lineup is from Mayhem Poets on Fri. Sept. 29. Their performances have been described as “The Simpsons meets Malcolm X at a Notorious B.I.G. concert.” Cool stuff. The rest of the season features productions from Othello to Moon Mouse to Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. Check out the full program online. Tickets for each show are $5.

The Gaillard Education initiative places importance on the role of the arts in educational and personal development in young children. The program is designed to bring to the stage a series of shows, educational artists, and other tools designed to help complement the state curriculum and round out the k-12 educations of South Carolina’s youth.
