Broad Street art gallery/yoga/massage studio Gallery Iamikan, formerly known as the Art of Core Consciousness, is closing Mon. Aug. 15. Owner Atmah Ja, who opened the space in 2009, changed the name this spring to reflect a new focus on the works of Iamikan, an artist who gave a memorable performance at Pecha Kucha 9.

Ja says they’ll open a new gallery in another city, though they haven’t decided where. “We have been building our client base around the country through a distinguished web presence and through collector referrals, and have some golden opportunities to showcase Iamikan and his many talents on a larger and more expansive stage,” Ja says. “I will greatly miss Charleston and everyone that has been a part of supporting our vision.” Stay in touch with the duo at iamikanart.com.
