Genrevolta frontman Philip Estes says the veteran band will regroup for a big show at the Tin Roof on Fri. May 7. The Charleston-based art-punk/indie-rock trio has performed sporadically over the last three years.
Estes and his bandmates — bassist Darby McGregor and drummer Pete Rivas — share the bill with Savannah-based trio Cusses, comprised of drummer Brian Lackey, guitarist Bryan Harder, and singer Angel Bond. Cusses recently released a debut EP titled Thrust.
“We had hoped to play another show in Charleston after our Tin Roof rampage in November, but it has been difficult to find a venue that will be okay with our decibel level, rowdiness, and such,” says Estes. “Cusses is a band made up of kids I went to art school with at SCAD back in the 1990s. Their live performance really is fantastic.”
