The Gibbes Museum of Art will host an installment of its virtual town hall series, focusing on the LGBTQ history of Charleston. Inspired by the exhibition Building a Legacy: The Vibrant Vision Collection of Jonathan Green and Richard Weedman, the series discusses community, the pandemic and recent season of racial reckoning.

Saturday, Oct. 17 at 12 p.m., the public is invited to attend in The Real Rainbow Row: LGBTQ+ History in the Lowcountry, in partnership with the College of Charleston’s LGBTQ Archive.

The virtual meeting will highlight the rich history of the local LGBTQ community and explore the stories that are often left out of local reference archives.

This event is free and open to the public, but those wanting to participate must register ahead of time. Registrants will receive the link to the Zoom webinar the day before the event.
