The Gibbes Museum of Art is hosting a Nature Inspired Community Day on Sat. Feb. 20. The nature theme is drawn from the Gibbes’ Main Gallery exhibition Lure of the Lowcountry, which showcases artist John Folsom’s mixed media photography alongside landscapes of the Lowcountry from the Gibbes’ permanent collection. The family-oriented event will feature activities including a musical performance by Memminger Elementary Students at 10:30 a.m. and a book reading by Christi Sanford from her series Legare the Lizard at 11:15 a.m. The free Community Day is sponsored by the Junior League of Charleston and lasts from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
