On April 19 at 6 p.m., Leah Suarez & Friends bring jazz and blues to the Gibbes for an evening performance celebrating the work of late African-American painter, storyteller, and interpreter Jacob Lawrence. The Gibbes has had a History, Labor, Life: The Prints of Jacob Lawrence on display since the beginning of the year, and the exhibit will run through April 30.

[image-1]Vocalist Leah Suarez, with Richard White Jr. on keys and Reggie Sullivan on bass, perform standards inspired by the work of Lawrence.
