If you missed Asheville’s Steep Canyon Rangers at the Music Farm in July, you can catch them at the third annual Charleston Green Fair, set to take place in Marion Square on Sun. Sept. 26.

The acoustic string quintet specializes in a melodic mix of bluegrass, old-time mountain music and blues. Comprised of singer/guitarist Woody Platt, mandolinist Mike Guggino, banjo player Graham Sharp, fiddler Nicky Sanders, and bassist Charles Humphrey, the band recently released an album titled Deep in the Shade, and toured and recorded with legendary comedian, actor, and banjo player Steve Martin.

The Coastal Conservation League and the City Paper present the Rangers as headliners the Charleston Green Fair with support from Asheville singer/songwriter Shannon Whitworth and roster of four local acts chosen through the Music With a Message contest.
