Hall Management Group will host a 9-day series of culinary gatherings called “Cheers Charleston” at its five Charleston-area establishments — Halls Chophouse, Halls Signature Events, High Cotton, Rita’s Seaside Grill and Slightly North of Broad. The series will start on Feb. 27 with a three-course Champagne lunch at Halls Chophouse and conclude on March 7 when all four of the group’s local restaurants will offer discounted prix-fixe meals. 

“Within our company, we are very big on community involvement,” said Matthew Niessner, Hall Management Group’s corporate executive chef. “We believe in supporting local communities, farmers and everything around us. For years, we’ve been involved in almost every event that we can participate in, and we felt that the general public is really just kind of cooped up. We decided to create our own programming in a safe and pandemic-cautious way.”  

A total of nine events will take place from Feb. 27-March 7. Designated areas of each establishment will house the events, and tickets are limited. A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Independent Restaurant Coalition’s efforts to assist local restaurants during the pandemic. 

Halls is collaborating with others outside of the group throughout the series. Fatty’s Beer Works will host “Birdies and Brews” on March 5, and KinFolk owners Joe and Kevin Nierstedt will bring their ramen-themed pop-up Katsubō to SNOB on March 6. 

“We’ve been fortunate enough to host them for a pop-up at SNOB, and they just sent a really good vibe throughout our kitchen,” said Hall Management Group marketing coordinator Hayley Anders. “It only felt natural during the winter to showcase their ramen.”
