Miracle popped up at Handcraft in 2019 as well | City Paper file photo

Handcraft Kitchen and Cocktails is bringing back its Christmas-themed Miracle bar pop-up for the second straight year. Starting Monday, Nov. 23, the Mount Pleasant cocktail bar will be decked out with festive decor and will feature several new holiday-themed drinks.

Look for twinkling lights, vintage garland, reindeer figurines and more. Drinks will feature options like the snowball old fashioned, Christmapolitan and the Parrot in a Pear Tree, a combination of tequila, pear liqueur, applejack, lime juice, “parrot mix” and black walnut bitters.

“We are thrilled to bring Miracle back to Handcraft Kitchen and Cocktails for its second year,” Handcraft general manager Daniel Farrell said in a press release. “Our customers and staff had so much fun celebrating the holidays last year with Miracle, and we are hoping to bring the same kind of joy to a year that has been a bit rough for many.”

The Miracle Bar franchise concept started in New York City six years ago and has since popped up with bright lights and over-the-top decor in 38 states and eight countries.

To become a Miracle pop-up, bars go through a vetting process — ones that make the cut receive the cocktail menu that every Miracle bar in the world uses featuring 10 cocktails and three festive shots. Participating bars pay a franchise fee and are responsible for decorating their space, with help from the Miracle team.

Miracle Bar founder Greg Boehm sat down with Eater last year to discuss the bar’s ascendance:

This year, a portion of the proceeds from all Miracle pop-ups will be donated to the James Beard Foundation’s Open for Good campaign to aid the relief efforts of independent restaurants.

Handcraft will transform into Miracle bar starting Nov. 23. For more information or to book a table, visit handcraftmtp.com
