Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, Center Street Kitchen opened its doors last night to their new open-air porch that gives customers a nice breeze, a view of the ocean, a few TVs, and a specialized menu.
They are offering small plates full of savory southern flavors like macaroni and cheese crab cakes, collard green and barbecue egg rolls, sliders, steamed mussels, chicken satay, and chili rellenos stuffed with cheese grits and topped with a shrimp and fire roasted tomato sauce.
They also offer 20 wines for $8-$10 by the glass and have cheese plates to enjoy alongside. There is plenty of lounge room with cushioned rattan chairs, high top tables with bar stools, and 7 ft. long community tables.
There is a “rustic, nautical, and eclectic feel to the porch,” says owner Chip Roberts. The porch opens at 3 p.m. daily. Also check out their new brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for their full menu plus brunch items such as the Bloody Mary bar, Captain Crunch french toast, crab Benedict, and a barbecue cheddar omelet.
