After a hiatus, the Skate Park of Charleston is once again doubling as a hot spot for hardcore and metal shows. Local promoter Paul J. Taylor Jr. first began booking shows at the North Charleston skate park three months ago. “It’s a match made in heaven,”
he says.

On Wed. June 12, the Skate Park hosts Long Island, N.Y., punkers Kills and Thrills, while Guttermouth will bring its brand of shocktastic, snot-nosed Cali-punk to the North Chuck venue on Thurs. June 20. Both shows start at
7 p.m.

The Skate Park of Charleston will also host the two-day Charleston Sound and Skate July 12-13, featuring Hundredth, Counterparts, the Mongoloids, and Suburban Scum. As for which shows Taylor is looking forward to the most, he says he’s particularly excited about Guttermouth. We understand — Guttermouth’s last show in town was legendary.
