The bad news is the long, glorious Memorial Day weekend is over. The good news? It’s a four-day work week and there are plenty beer happenings to help get you through it.
It was cancelled last Tuesday due to rain, but it looks like the weather will cooperate for this week’s Frothy Fit Club. For the uninitiated, here’s how it works: Start at Frothy Beard Brewing, run the 1.8 miles to Twisted Cypress Brewing, drink a beer, run back to Frothy, then drink another beer. Participants get $1 off beers at both breweries.
After a month and a half in Spain, the Spanish food pop-up kitchen The Castejóns has returned to Charleston and will be cooking up tapas at Charles Towne Fermentory starting at 5 p.m.
It’s a ‘90s party at Rusty Bull Brewing with name-that-tune trivia starting at 7 p.m.
The ‘90s theme continues at Holy City Brewing with MTV team trivia starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be prizes in the form of brewery gift cards for the first, second, and third place teams.
Craftsmen Kitchen & Tap House is holding its weekly Flights and Bites food and beer pairing with Prairie Artisan Ales, a craft brewery from Oklahoma that makes some of the absolute finest beers in the country.
Palmetto Brewing’s Loading Dock Series will feature three acts beginning at 6 p.m., headlined by Charleston’s own Mel Washington.
Low Tide Brewing is hosting a beer and chocolate tasting starting at 1 p.m. Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Pâtissier will be matching three hand-painted chocolates with three Low Tide beers for $10. Tastings will be every 30 minutes until 4 p.m.
An event to raise money for Lowcountry Orphan Relief, an organization that provides support for at-risk abandoned, abused or neglected children, will be hosted by Two Blokes Brewing from 12-3 p.m. It will feature a pop-up shop from LuLaRoe, jewelry from Two Cumberland, food from Cuban Gypsy Pantry, and plenty of good beer. A portion of all sales and $1 from each pint will go towards the charity.
