Scaggs started his career in rock as a member of the Steve Miller Band before achieving success in the 1970s as a solo act. His first commercial breakthrough came in 1976 with the album Silk Degrees, which included the funky, flute-peppered single "Lowdown," and the brassy, swingin’ smash hit "Lido Shuffle." His latest album is titled Speak Low.
